Job Description

Our client is seeking a Director of Finance & IT. The successful candidate will bring experience of successful leadership of finance functions within the voluntary sector, a track record of effective working and a highly collaborative approach. Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, alongside a commitment to the charity's mission and values, will also be important. The successful candidate will hold an ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountancy qualification.

* Direct the budgeting process and ensure that they reflect the organisation and its priorities
* Ensure that financial systems develop in line with income and organisational growth by working with other directors
* Prepare monthly financial reports for Managers, Trustees and Directors
* Prepare the payroll and any other required returns
* Create year-end financial accounts by liaising with the Treasurer and Auditors
* Manager cash flows, capital expenditure and revenue, along with any bank borrowings ensuring the best interest rates are received
* Manage schemes such as insurance and pension
* Liaise with tax advisors to ensure the efficient handling of all donations and to maintain the tax exemption status
* Ensure all Audits and Business Reviews are carried out as required


* ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountancy qualification
* Experience of managing staff
* Able to assess organisational risks and manage them effectively
* Knowledge of IT and Financial best practice
* Management of both long and short term development plans
* Experience of management within the voluntary sector and the requirements of financial services in them (ideal but not essential)
